It’s that time of year again to Step UP! for Down syndrome

Registrations Open in July 2022

After a few years of no face to face events, we are excited to start planning our annual Step UP! campaign for 2022, to take place throughout September and October to celebrate World Down Syndrome Month!

Step UP! 2022: Sunday 25 September

Our annual Sydney Step UP! event will be on:
Sunday 25 September
Royal Botanical Gardens
10am to 1pm

Mark your diaries, tell your family and friends!
This family fun day will feature a light walk around the park and foreshore, followed by music, face painting, stalls and a picnic.

Not in Sydney? Never fear – there might be an event happening near you, or you can host your own! You can also do an online challenge like many members did last year – 21 days of walking, 21 days of dressing up, 21 laps around the park and more!

Get Involved

There are four awesome ways you can get involved this year:

  • Attend a Step UP! event: Sydney will be on Sunday 25 September in the Royal Botanical Gardens, we will also list all local events
  • Organise your own local Step UP! event with our support – we would LOVE our members to run events, we will help you! This can take place anytime throughout September or October
  • Set up your #21YourWay online fundraiser and set yourself a fun challenge
  • Purchase our shirts, hats, tote bags, flags, cards created by artists with Down syndrome and more, our online shop will be available from July

We want this year to be our biggest and best yet!

Host Your Own Local Event

If you are interested in organising your own local Step UP! event, it can be as big or small as you like. Some ideas include: walk in the park, picnic, family fun day, morning tea, afternoon tea, coffee catch up, local gym challenge, cake stall, daily steps challenge, play in the park, host a raffle or auction, a local gala dinner or fundraiser, a workplace lunch and more.

Your support means the world to us and is so needed.

We’d love to hear from you if you are interested in running your own local event, so we can offer our support and add it to our events list.
