About the event
Some health conditions such as thyroid disorders and sleep apnea are more common in people with Down syndrome compared to people without Down syndrome. Other conditions such as solid tumor cancers and high blood pressure are less common. In this presentation, Brian Chicoine, MD, will describe differences in the prevalence of health conditions in people with and without Down syndrome. He will discuss the health care implications of these differences and provide suggestions for supporting individuals with Down syndrome in receiving comprehensive as well as individualized health care.
