Join one of our regional Q&A’s providing parents and carers a forum to discuss education topics and meet their local DSV Education Consultant!

This event is for parents and carers of children with Down syndrome who live in the Central Highlands and Western District of Victoria.

About the event

Did you know that DSV has Regional Education Consultants? This session will provide general information about education and give participants a chance to meet Amy Fitzgerald, DSV Regional Education Consultant and Paula Kilgallon, DSV Education Manager. You’ll be able to ask questions, discuss issues and build a relationship with your local DSV staff member. The workshops are for parents and carers of children with Down syndrome from the regions outlined above. They are free online events.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with other parents and carers
  • Meet your local Education Consultant from DSV
  • Share information and experiences of your child’s education
  • Experience peer support
  • Receive DSV information on education and advocacy
  • Discuss the current education experience in Victoria – including remote learning

Amy Fitzgerald, Education Consultant DSV

Amy has worked in a variety of education settings including early intervention, primary schools and specialist education schools. Amy has a Post Graduate Diploma of Education and a Masters Degree in Special Education. Amy joined the Education Support Team in October 2020 and is passionate about supporting students and teachers to achieve their education goals in regional Victoria.

Paula Kilgallon

Paula Kilgallon, Education Manager DSV

Paula is an experienced teacher who has worked in primary schools in both Australia and overseas. She also has experience teaching socially disadvantaged children with Berry Street. Paula has post graduate qualifications in Psychology, having completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Professional Psychology with Monash University. Paula joined the Education Support Team in January 2019, and is committed to helping students achieve their goals.
