Join our cyber safety workshop!
This is a practical workshop designed for adults with Down syndrome to learn great tips to keep safe when using a mobile phone and Facebook.

This is an online event. You will receive a link to join the session on zoom upon registration.
About the event
To get the most from this workshop we recommended that:
- the participant uses a computer/laptop for the workshop so they can explore their phone/iPad during the workshop.
- a support person/parent be available to provide assistance during the workshop.
You will learn about:
- Passwords and personal information
- What to do if you lose your phone
- Calls and messages

Pines Learning is a not for profit Registered Training Organisation, which has delivered a wide range of community courses over 40 years including courses for people with medium to high functioning intellectual disabilities.
With the support of DSV, Pines Training obtained a State Trustees Grant offer this workshop for free to members of Down Syndrome Victoria.

For more than 40 years Pines Learning, a not for profit Learn Local provider and RTO has delivered a wide range of community and government funded courses, including courses for people with medium to high functioning intellectual disabilities. In 2020 they were successful in gaining a State Trustees Grant to offer cyber safety workshops for members of Down Syndrome Victoria as well as the wider Manningham community. These workshops will acknowledge the many benefits of using a mobile phone and Facebook and will introduce strategies for staying safe when participating online.
