Children will then be linked with an appropriate ongoing paediatrician close to home.

The clinic communicates with your preferred general practitioner (GP) who will continue to provide care for your child.

The clinic is able to provide a secondary consult service for paediatricians caring for older children with Trisomy 21 who have particular issues or concerns (eg for advice around additional diagnoses).

A small number of children with very complex ongoing health needs may continue to receive their ongoing paediatric care through this clinic. Most children in this category will be seeing multiple subspecialty teams at the Royal Children’s.

The clinic is staffed by a paediatrician and nurse with a special interest in the management of Trisomy 21.
