Leticia Hodson is the managing editor of Voice and in this article she spoke with registered music therapist Helen Cameron about the importance of music in our cultural lives as well as the potential for improved development in young children.
Helen takes us through how the use of music in therapy can improve gross and fine motor skills, assist in speech and language development as well helping to regulate emotions and sensory processing difficulties. It’s also a really fun and engaging way of getting children of all abilities involved in moving and learning.
