Liana Webb something you could do remotely ?

๐Ÿ‘ Big thanks to Amelia, Emily and all our other amazing Health Ambassadors!

Theyve been busy teaching medical, nursing and allied health students about communicating well with people who have intellectual disability.

Last month, Amelia and Emily were at Melbourne University, showing Master of Nursing Students why good communication matters. They gave examples and tips to help these future healthcare professionals build better connections and enhance health outcomes for people with Down syndrome.

๐Ÿ“บ Did you see our CEO, Darryl Steff, on ABC News last night?

The interview was about Iceland's remarkably low rate of babies born with Down syndrome โ€“ only 2 or 3 each year. Around 85% of pregnant Icelandic women opt for prenatal testing. Almost all pregnancies with Down syndrome are terminated.Darryl discussed how this approach in Iceland creates a negative perception around Down syndrome. He talked about the importance of giving clear, objective information to prospective parents during prenatal testing, so they can make informed choices. Darryl also stressed the need for better support and training for healthcare professionals. We're committed to advocating for this change.
