More than Down syndrome

Having Down syndrome can sometimes mean a greater chance of developing other health conditions. For some families, this can create a feeling of having a foot in two worlds but not fitting into either.

In the September 2014 issue of Voice, we asked people to share their experiences to provide support to others who may be travelling the same road. We took a close look at the rare, but serious condition known as atlanto-axial instability as well as the intersection of Down syndrome and autism, plus living with low vision.
