StepUP! is a fundraising and awareness campaign held during Down Syndrome Awareness Month every October. It celebrates the significant contributions people with Down syndrome make to our communities.
DSV invites you to come and celebrate by attending a StepUP! for Down syndrome event this October!
DSV will be holding our annual StepUP! event at Princes Park Carlton North on Sunday 18 October, as well as supporting the community of Geelong with their own StepUP! celebration on Sunday 4 October.
Why StepUP!?
- Raise awareness. By participating in StepUP! you’re helping to spread awareness about Down syndrome and promoting a society where everyone is valued and included. Your presence makes a difference in changing perceptions and breaking down stereotypes.
- Support a worthy cause. All funds raised from StepUP! go directly to Down Syndrome Victoria. This enables us to continue providing essential programs, services and advocacy efforts that support individuals with Down syndrome and families. Your registration helps us offer critical support and resources to those who need it most.
- Celebrate diversity and inclusion. StepUP! is a celebration of the diversity within our community. It’s a day filled with music, entertainment and activities for all ages, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and included.
- Connect with community. Join a vibrant and supportive community of families, friends, advocates and allies. StepUP! is an opportunity to meet others who share a common thread and want to make a positive impact, forge lasting friendships, and create a more inclusive world together.

Carer Gateway is a nationwide program funded by the Australian Government, led by Holstep Health in Victoria. It provides free services and support to help carers manage daily challenges, reduce stress and improve wellbeing.
