Employment Connections Service
Down Syndrome Victoria (DSV) offers services to employers looking to diversify their workforce. We will work with you to find the right employee to meet your needs.
We offer support to emplyers to:
- define and carve a suitable role
- Down syndrome awareness training for existing staff
- advertising to our DSV community
- onboarding and initial on-the-job support
- ongoing support to the business.

We can provide support to help your employee with Down syndrome succeed in their role, while equipping your workplace with practical tools and strategies for success.

Have you started a new job or already working and looking for some extra support?
We can provide support to adults with Down syndrome in your new or current role. We know that starting a job is just the beginning, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. This may include:
- job coaching to help you settle in and learn your tasks
- training for your co-workers and supervisors
- help with any issues or concerns you have
- support to explore and develop new skills in your workplace.
You will need to be a Member of Down Syndrome Victoria to access this service, but it’s very easy to become a Member.

Our Employment Connections program is frequently approached by employers who want to hire a person with Down syndrome in roles customised to suit their skills, interests and availability.
