Supporting healthy ageing and wellbeing for people with Down syndrome

About the Project

With support from nib foundation, Down Syndrome Australia will develop accessible, tailored resources to support health equity in ageing for people with Down syndrome. The project is guided by an Ageing Advisory Group and shaped by the voices of people with Down syndrome, their families and carers.

Project goals

  • Improve health equity for people with Down syndrome through development of new, accessible resources, which promote healthy ageing for people with Down syndrome.
  • Increase awareness amongst the Down syndrome population and healthcare professionals, of the health issues associated with ageing for people with Down syndrome.
  • Establish a national approach for knowledge sharing, including hosting of project resources on the DSA National Resources Hub.
