Making DSA’s governance more inclusive
DSA received funding from the Sherry-Hogan Foundation to support a second person with Down syndrome to join our Board. We also have funding to make our governance practices more inclusive. This includes making our internal documents and processes easier to understand in Easy Read and plain English.
Importance
Accessible governance means people with Down syndrome can take part in decisions that affect them. It puts their voices at the centre of our work. This strengthens inclusion and helps DSA build capacity and collaboration within the Down syndrome community.
Highlights
- New Board member appointed
- Inclusive governance review completed
- Most internal governance documents now in Plain English
