National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health 

About the Centre

Down Syndrome Australia is proud to be part of the consortium for the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health (the Centre). 

The Centre is working to make sure people with intellectual disability get better health care through the advocacy, clinical and research experience of its members. 

The Centre is built on a model that includes shared governance with people with intellectual disability, their families, and advocates. People with intellectual disability work at the Centre as leaders and experts.  

How is Down Syndrome Australia involved?  

Down Syndrome Australia is one of nine consortium member organisations who are leading the work of the Centre.   

We are working on projects across the Centre, including:   

  • Inclusive Practice Guidelines
