If you’re looking for support, we’ve included a list of free mental health services below that may be helpful. While we don’t specifically endorse any individual service, we hope these resources provide a helpful starting point if you or someone you know needs support.

Beyond Blue

The free telephone and online counselling service is open 24/7 for everyone in Australia.

No matter who you are, or how you’re feeling, reach out to the free counselling services for support – and they’ll point you in the right direction so you can get the help you need.

Translation, hearing and speech services

Carer Gateway

The Carer Gateway Phone Counselling Service is a free program funded by the Australian Government. It offers phone counselling to carers aged 18 and over.

Caring for someone can sometimes feel stressful, upsetting, or overwhelming. During tough times, Carer Gateway’s trained counsellors can talk with you one-on-one. They listen to how you are feeling and help you talk about your caring role.

The service provides:

  • Free phone counselling
  • Confidential support
  • Compassionate professional counsellors
  • No referral needed
  • Out-of-hours appointments

Kids Helpline

Kids Helpline is Australia’s only free (even from a mobile), confidential 24/7 online and phone counselling service for young people aged five to 25. Qualified counsellors at Kids Helpline are available anytime, any reason.

Lifeline – Crisis Support

The crisis support services offer confidential one-to-one, short-term support with a trained Lifeline crisis supporter.

For people who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping they will listen without judgement and provide a safe space to discuss what’s on your mind.
