Connection is so important to our members and families. DSWA’s social groups for all ages and stages of life support families and individuals to form connections and friendships. These connections are often fostered in Playgroup or Kids club and continue throughout the years. Play, fun, conversation and social skills support skill development for the future, including employment and independent living.
These strong social connections and support members and parents alike. We asked one of our Friends for Life parents what the impact of the socials groups from Playgroup, Kids Club and now Friends for life has meant for their family, “The friendships and connections that I made through taking my child to playgroup and Kids Club have been so valuable to both of us. Now seeing them go off to Friends for Life and meeting up with their friends and forming their own close bonds and genuine friendships is so heartwarming.
