About the event
All dads, grandfathers and male carers of people with Down syndrome are invited to Lunch in the wild in Ballarat!
Please join Down Syndrome Victoria Chief Executive Officer Daniel Payne for a relaxed and enjoyable catered lunch in the Bushman’s Hut at Ballarat Wildlife Park followed by an optional afternoon exploring wildlife. You can bring your family member with Down syndrome to join the fun!
There will be no formal presentations and no pressure — just good company, conversation and the chance to meet other dads and men in the DSV community.
Thanks to a generous grant received from the Parenting Research Centre, this event is free to attend. DSV will cover the entrance fee for you and your child or adult, along with lunch.
Tickets are limited, so please register soon! Registrations close at 11.59pm on Sunday 3 May 2026.
Your registration includes all afternoon access to the park, so feel free to stay until the park closes!
If you are bringing your family member with Down syndrome and they have a companion card, please bring this with you to show at the entrance at the event.
