New Down syndrome organisation in South Australia

Announcing a new Down syndrome organisation in South Australia

We are pleased to announce the establishment of a new state-based organisation in South Australia: Down Syndrome Community South Australia.

Down Syndrome Community South Australia builds on the existing presence in South Australia, supported by Down Syndrome WA and Down Syndrome Australia.

The new organisation will start to strengthen and develop local connection, peer support, and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and their families across South Australia. Down Syndrome Community South Australia will work collaboratively with local organisations, as well as Down syndrome organisations across Australia, as part of the national Down syndrome community.

Service delivery will continue during this transition. Down Syndrome Community SA has a small staff team available in South Australia for Employment and Family Support on Thursdays and Fridays (9:00am–3:00pm). They are supported by staff at Down Syndrome WA, who answer the South Australia phone Monday to Thursday (8:30am–4:00pm WA time), with email support also available.
