Share your experience as a family member or support person

Do you support a person with intellectual disability?

Your experience could help improve health resources for people with intellectual disability.

The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health is setting up a new Family and Supporters Advisory Group.

The group will help the Centre understand what health resources are needed. It will also help make sure the resources are useful and accessible.

Why get involved?

As a family member or support person, you have valuable experience to share. You can tell us what works, what is missing and what could be better.

The Centre is looking for 6 – 8 family members and support people from across Australia.

You’ll meet online six times a year. You’ll be paid for your time.

We particularly encourage you to apply if you support a person with intellectual disability who:

  • is First Nations
  • is from a culturally and linguistically diverse background
  • has complex support needs.

Other family members and support people are also welcome to apply.
