New information service in South Australia

2020 has been a big year of change, and Down Syndrome Australia (DSA) understands that people with Down syndrome and their families across Australia are looking for ways to connect and support each other. In many cases the Down syndrome State and Territory organisations are providing new ways of connecting and staying in touch.

We are aware that some people with Down syndrome and their families in South Australia may be feeling disconnected from the wider Down syndrome community during these tough times.

We want to take this opportunity to reach out and reassure you all that we are still here to support you in this current climate.

We are working hard to reconnect with our community in South Australia, and are excited to welcome our new dedicated South Australia Information Officer Samantha Roach to the DSA family. Samantha has a background in education and is a parent to a child with Down syndrome.

Samantha will be providing information and supports to people with Down syndrome and their families in South Australia, including setting up peer-support networks and connecting people to relevant services within South Australia. She wants to hear from you about your experiences and how best she can support the community in South Australia. You can reach her on infoSA@downsyndrome.org.au.

Stay up to date with the work of Down Syndrome Australia and future opportunities by signing up to our newsletter here.
