DSAN’s submission on Support for Decision Making

August 23, 2021

“Making decisions is important to people with Down syndrome. It makes us feel independent, free and in control of our own life.”

This week our Down Syndrome Advisory Network provided the NDIA with a submission on the Support for Decision Making consultation.

The NDIA asked for feedback on the Support for Decision Making consultation to understand how people with disabilities want to be supported to make decisions.

DSAN tell us about when and how people with Down syndrome make decisions – and the best people to provide this support.

“Remember that we can make our own decisions.”

“The best people who can help us make decisions are people who know us very well and who we trust.”
