DSWA – Special Olympics Update from Anna

I was really lucky to be chosen for the WA Special Olympics team to go to nationals in Melbourne. My sport was ballroom dancing. I did a solo dance of the Cha Cha with my coach Darryl and wore a pink dress. I had a lot of fun. Some things we did were workshops on group dances with all the different states. This was really cool because we all learnt the same dance which we performed for the closing ceremony. Dance was an exhibition sport this year and it was a great opportunity to dance in front of everybody and everyone was cheering.

I loved the experience because I made lots of new dance friends from all over Australia and everyone was really friendly and awesome. After the closing ceremony there was a party for all the athletes and we all danced and had a great time
