About the event
Sensory processing needs can sometimes make it hard for children to feel calm, safe and organised enough to try foods in their day. Sensory diets are a popular tool that can help families contextualise the “what, when, why, how and how much” to help make sensory tools work better for their children, in their daily settings, without overly disturbing the family routine.
This event is a virtual ‘come and try’ session aimed at families that have heard about sensory diets, would love to know a bit more about them, and may like to create one for their homes with support from an experienced occupational therapist.
You will learn about:
- sensory diets
- the principles of designing sensory diets for your child
- design a diet for your child with feedback from an occupational therapist.
This session is open to parents and carers of children up to 18 years of age with disability, developmental delay or chronic medical conditions.
