About the event

Our Get Active, More Often program is here!

Launched in July, the program promotes a different sport, activity and sporting pathway every second month. At each activity you will:

  • meet the State Sporting Association
  • learn some new skills
  • build connections
  • hear about some sporting opportunities and pathways.

This October give Table Tennis a go at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

This activity is for adults with Down syndrome aged 18 years and over who are members of Club21. New members welcome.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Come and learn to play with John Ind, past national Table Tennis Coach
  • Play some activities and matches in a fun and supportive environment
  • Meet representatives from DSV, Sport Inclusion Australia and Table Tennis Victoria
  • Learn about inclusive sporting pathways for people with a disability.

John Ind, former national Table Tennis player

Jon Ind is a former national Table Tennis player as well as one of only three current Level 3 ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) Referee/Umpires. His role is to coach the coaches, umpires and referees so they can be accredited.

John has been employed by Table Tennis Australia and Victoria for over 20 years to run Come & Try days for people from all walks of life. He loves enabling people to play the sport more often and gain great enjoyment from it.
