Hear Me Out: Finding Your Voice Through Debate 3-Day Workshop
About the event
Would you like to build confidence, meet new people and have some fun while sharing your ideas?
Hear Me Out is a free 3-day program for people with intellectual disability aged 17+.
We use debate in a fun and supportive way to help people practice speaking, listening, thinking and sharing their opinions.
You will take part in games, group activities and debates where you can:
– Share your ideas and opinions
– Practice speaking in front of others
– Listen to different points of view
– Work together and support your team
– Build confidence in using your voice
– Have fun and meet new people
You do not need to know anything about debating. You can join in at your own pace, with support from DSIDQ staff and Peer Mentors.
Hear Me Out was made with people with intellectual disability. It is designed to be easy to understand, practical and enjoyable.
Come along for three days of ideas, teamwork, laughter and having a go.
