We need your support to sustain our vital support services for the intellectual disability community beyond July 1st.

Our mission at DSQ is to support, advocate for and empower people with intellectual disabilities and their families through professional resources and services, like family intervention, employment support and education services.

However after July 1st, we are losing vital funding for our Support Services team that allows us to provide peer support options, employment, travel training, capacity building workshops and non-directive prenatal counselling to the intellectual disability community.

So, we need your support.

Why Donate?

Funding for our essential support services is ending, for services like peer mentorship programs, family workshops, prenatal screening and advice, early years programs and navigating supports. This means that we cannot provide the vital services and resources to families and individuals with intellectual disability that help to inform, connect, support and empower people to live their best lives.

From prenatal and family counselling to employment opportunities, your generosity opens doors to a brighter future for those who deserve it most.

All donations over $2 made before June 30th are tax deductible. Not only are you making a difference in the lives of others, but you’re also eligible for potential tax savings. It’s a win-win situation!

Your Impact

Your donation is not just a financial contribution; it’s an investment in the lives of people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities in Queensland. With your help, we can provide essential services, peer support and capacity building programs, and resources that empower individuals, families, carers and friends to thrive.

Every dollar you donate goes directly towards supporting our cause. Whether it’s providing peer support programs, developing employment resources, or offering support services to families in need, your contribution creates a tangible impact.

Meet Dixzy, a Peer Supporter

Raising a child with Down syndrome is not easy, but it is important to know that you are not alone and DSQ are here to help. “Some days in my life are sunny and bright, and some of them are cloudy, but my best motivation is to see my cheeky teenager Daniel living his normal life – in this crazy world where we live.” Dixzy reflects.

DSQ’s ‘Peer Supporters’ are volunteers along with adults with Down syndrome who are the connection between DSQ and its members and participants. Peer Supporters help us ensure that we meet the needs and wants of the community and provide invaluable support to the community via their own lived experience.

Unfortunately the peer support programs will be one of various services we can no longer provide after July 1st without help from the community.
