About the event

This workshop is designed for family members and carers who are looking for straightforward ways to promote healthy eating habits and overall wellbeing for adults with Down syndrome.

With a strong focus on real life application, it will provide simple, achievable strategies that can be used at home and when eating out.

You will learn about:

  • nutrition priorities for supporting health in people with Down syndrome
  • what a balanced “healthy plate” looks like to guide everyday meals and eating out
  • practical and realistic weight management strategies for people with Down syndrome
  • how the home food environment influences eating habits and independence
  • Nicky’s top practical tips for making sustainable nutrition changes at home.

Nicky is a nutritionist who focuses on practical nutrition strategies that fit real lives, families and busy schedules. Through both research and lived experience as a parent of a child with Down syndrome, Nicky has developed a strong focus on supporting the unique nutritional needs of people with Down Syndrome.
