This is Sean, our eight year old son. He is the youngest of our five children and has Down syndrome. He was diagnosed with Down syndrome when I was 20 weeks pregnant and I was scared and anxious about what the future would hold. But since the moment Sean was born he has brought such joy to our lives and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
He is growing up to be a gorgeous, well-mannered boy with a great sense of fun and humour (as well as a reasonable dose of stubbornness!). He absolutely adores his immediate and extended family and is constantly saying “love you”. I have learnt to be very comfortable with taking things in “Sean time”, knowing that progress is always there but on a different plane to the other children. We are looking forward to seeing this little boy grow up and seeing what the future holds.
