The ACT Down Syndrome Association is proud to announce that we have changed our name to “ACT Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disability Association Incorporated”.
This name change enhances our commitment to promoting and supporting inclusivity across the ACT and surrounding regions and reflects our mission to advocate for and support people with Down syndrome, people with Intellectual Disability and their families.
The decision to incorporate “Intellectual Disability” into our name comes after careful consideration, community consultation and agreement from our members. We believe this change better reflects the individuals we support and aligns with our ongoing efforts to promote awareness and inclusion within the broader community.
We will continue to provide our programs and services to our members, people with Down syndrome, people with other intellectual disability and to the community. We will continue to advocate for equality and inclusion in all aspects of life and look forward to providing enhanced services and supports over the coming months and years.
