DSWA Kimberley Visit
Over the last few years DSWA have had a focus on building our outreach across Regional WA. With the support of Telethon 7 we have supported three regions for some time, Great Southern, Midwest and Southwest. In the last two years we have received a Scrapheap Adventure Ride grant provided through DSA that has allowed us to launch Peel and Wheatbelt last year and the Northwest this year. Our CEO and Senior Coordinator have been very fortunate to travel to Broome and Kununurra and meet with families, service providers, allied health professionals, doctors and teachers and education staff. It has been an incredible visit, received with a positive and enthusiastic response. Spending time with people, sharing workshops with professionals we are building knowledge, capacity and strengthening our DSWA community.
The importance of the regional outreach program has been reinforced with the visit to the North West, with families and professionals sharing the need for connection, information, and resources. Families too reiterated the value of the DSWA community to them.
