Meet Rose, MyTime Facilitator at East Gippsland.
If you’ve attended MyTime in East Gippsland, there’s a good chance you’ve met Rose McKenna. Rose has been part of the MyTime community since 2008, when she took on the role of Facilitator after staff at Noah’s Ark Bairnsdale encouraged her to apply for a newly established group in the region. What began as one group quickly expanded to two, and Rose has been supporting families ever since.
For Rose, the most rewarding part of MyTime is seeing parents and carers take time for themselves. She loves that MyTime is centered on members’ wellbeing and values the friendships and peer support that develop through the groups. Watching families connect, share experiences and support one another beyond MyTime sessions is something she finds particularly special.
Outside of MyTime, Rose enjoys learning line dancing, spending time in nature and practicing as a reiki energy healing practitioner. Most importantly, she is a proud grandmother to her granddaughter, Lacey May.
Rose encourages any parent or carer who may be feeling overwhelmed to give MyTime a try. “MyTime families are very welcoming and understanding. It’s a place where you can take some time for yourself, connect with others who understand your experiences, and feel supported without judgement.”
