2024 Challenge Weekend #1 Brisbane thumbnail.

The DSQ Challenge Weekend is a personal development weekend for people with Down syndrome aged 16yrs and over. Participants are allocated into small groups captained by a volunteer team leader who provides peer support for the duration of the weekend. The aim is for ‘Challengers’ to try new things and be pushed outside their comfort zones in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment.

About the event

Meeting Point / Pick Up Point:  Camp Warrawee, 81 Byrnes Rd N, Joyner QLD 4500

Out of Pocket Costs:  $350 (includes accommodation, meals, activities, T-shirt)

Support Costs:  $800 (invoiced at the end of the month)

COVID-19 Safe Plan / Conditions:

This activity has restricted numbers.
Participants, staff and volunteers who are not feeling well, or been in contact with some not well will not be able to participate.
Participants will be expected to wash their hands-on arrival and during the activity.
Participants should be dropped off and picked up where someone will be waiting. Family members and others should only get out of the car if absolutely necessary.
All activities will be conducted outside where possible.
Sufficient social distancing space will be provided during this activity.
There will be no sharing of food.
Staff and volunteers are required to comply with all the same requirements and expectations.
