About the event
This session will be focused on the expectations of a positive behaviour support plan.
This is for parents and carers of children with intellectual disability.
Participants will:
- how a behaviour practitioner should prepare the plan
- what to include in the plan
- restrictive practices and why they need to be discussed in a plan, even if undertaken by family
- collaboration with other therapists
- how behaviour and strategies can be identified in a plan even if there is no restrictive practice.
You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about behaviours and strategies.

Presenter
Kim Henderson
Kim is a qualified disability nurse and she has worked in the sector in Victoria for forty years. Kim recently completed a Grad Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support following many years of behavioural support in residential and day service settings.
She has worked at Maroondah City Council supporting participants to understand all things NDIS in plain English since 2016. When she is isn’t not being an NDIS nerd, Kim enjoys the company of her family and dogs.
