About the event

Have you ever finished a conversation with a health professional, or even with friends or family who support you, feeling like you weren’t able to get your message across? This session is filled with practical and proven tips to help you.

Carers will:

  • gain practical skills to help build confidence when communicating with service professionals
  • improve yourcapacity to communicate to service professionals about their child’s needs
  • build confidence to support family members or other carers to improve their communication skills when having conversations with service professionals.

Presenter

Sally Camilleri, Carer and Community Educator

Sally ’s academic experience encompasses welfare studies, anthropology, and education.

She is an experienced educator and facilitator with a career spanning direct service delivery, community development and project management with people with a disability, women who experience disadvantage and Carers. Having worked with Carers Victoria for over four years, and embarked on her own carer role, Sally has built a complex understanding of the carer perspective.
