About the event

Join us for this online MyTime session about circles of support. They are made up of family, friends and community members who intentionally come together in friendship and support around a child, adolescent or adult with disability.

The presenter, Teresa Micallef from Belonging Matters, will provide a detailed overview of circles of support, share stories and promote audience questions. For people interested in more, individual time to follow up after the session can be arranged on request.

Participants will gain knowledge about:

  • what circles of support are
  • why they are important and some of their benefits
  • whether a circle of support might be right for you
  • how circles can help young children with disability and their families
  • how circles can help people with disability approaching adulthood (or are already there).

This event is for parents, carers or family members of a person with disability. We will focus on young children and young adults under 18 but it is relevant for adults with disability of any age who need support.

This event was made possible by Carers Victoria through a National Carers Week Event Grant.
