About the event
Join us for this online MyTime session designed to help you consider and document what needs to be done to prepare for an emergency, when you are not able to care for others, as you usually would.
Navigating an emergency can be very daunting. During this introductory emergency care workshop, we will work through a plan to help you be prepared and keep peace of mind.
The focus of this workshop is how to provide continuity of care should something unexpected happen to you.
Participants will gain knowledge about:
- why it is important to have an emergency care plan
- what kind of emergencies to plan for
- who might be able to help in an emergency
- what key information needs to be documented in an emergency care plan
- working through an emergency care plan template.
This session is for parents, carers and families of people with disability of all ages.
Please note: that this workshop will not cover advanced care planning. Advanced care planning is a proactive process that helps individuals prepare for future healthcare decisions, ensuring their wishes are respected if they become unable to communicate them.
