About the event

This the sixth information session in our ‘Housing’ series. Each month there is a different focus with some guest speakers. Keep an eye out for further workshops in the series.    

During this session we will be exploring Housing Options Made Easy (HOME) with Court Walters from Milparinka.

Participants will gain knowledge about:

  • What are Individualised Living Options (ILOs)?
  • How are ILOs different to Supported Independent Living (SIL)?
  • Who might be eligible for ILO Supports?
  • What does an ILO actually look like in someone’s life?
  • How can you get ILO in your plan?
  • Learnings from 4 years of delivering ILO under the NDIS
  • Finding and keeping good housemates

Presenter

Court Walters, Home and Living Consultant, Milparinka

Court is the head of Housing Options Made Easy (HOME) at Milparinka. HOME oversees 20 Individualised Living Options (ILOs) in Melbourne. For the last 17 years, Court has been walking alongside people with disability towards better and more personalised living arrangements – both here and in his native NZ. Court was a member of the NDIS Home and Living Policy Co-Design group, is a member of the SDA Alliance and speaks at conferences nationally on what is really happening at the coal face for people accessing Home and Living supports under the NDIS.

Debby Fraumano

Debby Fraumano, Adult Support Manager, DSV

Debby Fraumano (she/her)

Debby is a social worker who has been working in a range of social services in Victoria for the last thirty years. She started out in family services supporting vulnerable families before specialising in disability. Debby has experience in working in direct service with people with disabilities, case management and advocacy, information sharing and training.

Debby is a parent of an adult with a disability, and as such also experiences the trials of the disability world, having firsthand experience of navigating the NDIS, health, housing, education, employment and ageing. Debby is also a keen equine enthusiast and loves spending time with her herd of horses.
