About the event

This is the fourth session in our ‘Housing’ series.

We will explore occupational therapy and housing and how adaptations, modifications and equipment can support a person to live independently.

Participants will gain knowledge about occupational therapy supports in relation to housing needs. This includes assistive technology assessments, home modifications or skill development and participation-based therapy.

Each month there will be a different focus with some guest speakers. Keep an eye out for further workshops in the series.

Presenter

Hannah Cohen, Occupational Therapist, LIVE Allied Health Services

Hannah is an Occupational Therapist who has been working in the disability sector for the last 15 years.

During her career, Hannah has worked closely with people living in the community who are exploring housing options – which may include adapting their current home with supports, modifications and equipment or supporting them to explore and design their future home and living situation.

Hannah has lived experience of disability, having a 30-year-old sister who lives with Down syndrome.

Hannah says the combination of her family experiences and work has helped her to learn and grow as a sibling, daughter and clinician; and to developed empathy, innovation and curiosity along the journey.
