Key Word Sign Training for Parents- Townsville thumbnail.

The DSQ Education Team is excited to be visiting Townsville to provide Key Word Sign training to parents in the area.

Our accredited presenter will provide Key Word Sign (KWS) training to parents who are already using KWS or are thinking about trying KWS with their child/ren.

Our Key Word Sign training will include:

  • Introduction to Key Word Sign
  • Research based engaging presentation
  • Numerous opportunities to practice
  • Printable KWS sentence strips for you use at home, with your child’s allied health team, or with their school

What is Key Word Sign?

Key Word Sign (KWS) adds signs to spoken words. The key words in a message are signed. KWS is not a sign language, but it borrows the signs from the sign language of the country it is used in. In Australia, this is Auslan.

Key Word Sign Australia acknowledges the deaf community for the use of Auslan signs.

This workshop has been made possible by funds raised at the DSQ Townsville Gala.
