It is an approach that is person centred with the aim of improving communication, social, emotional and behavioural outcomes for individuals.

About the event
This is a free event for parents and carers of children and teens with Down syndrome who are under the age of 15.
Participants will gain knowledge about:
- What is Positive Behaviour Support?
- How to create effective rhythms and routines in your home
- How to set up positive behaviour structures and supports
- The difference between teaching positive behaviours as opposed to focussing on negative behaviours
- Learn practical strategies to begin to introduce elements of positive behaviour support

Presenters

Belinda Webb
Belinda Webb is a Special Education Teacher and Behaviour Consultant who is passionate about assisting families with children’s challenging behaviours. She has over 15 years experience working with a range of children across all ability levels, including children with ASD, developmental delay and intellectual disability from ages 2- 20. Belinda also lectures, pre-service teachers at Victoria University in working with students with disabilities.
Belinda fosters a positive approach to assisting families to make positive change with the children in their lives.
