Participants will gain an understanding of:
- what is an enduring power of attorney.
- how to choose an attorney and what happens if you don’t choose an attorney.
- what a medical treatment decision maker is.
- how to choose someone as a medical treatment decision maker.
- the safeguards of these legal documents.

Presenters

Kate Riceputo, Education and Engagement Officer, Office of the Public Advocate
Kate has degrees in psychology and social work and extensive experience in both the Disability sector and the Training and Assessment sector.
Kate has taught at different TAFES and private colleges, teaching across the whole of the Diploma of Community Services and then worked at DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services). She has worked within Disability Services, starting off in Intake and Response but predominantly as Behavioural Support Practitioner, where she worked to implement behavioural strategies for people who had severe disabilities.
Prior to OPA, Kate worked for a time at NDIA as a NDIS planner but have now been at OPA for four years.
