About the event
An information session to assist parents and carers getting their child with Down syndrome ready to start secondary school.
In this workshop parents will gain an understanding of:
- preparing school resources
- working with the school to support your child
- tips for preparing your child for transition
- sharing knowledge about Down syndrome.
Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and discuss any concerns they may have.
This workshop is for families of children with Down syndrome.

Presenter

Ro O’Dwyer, Education Manager, DSV
Ro has extensive teaching experience in primary schools in both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. A passion for Literacy and supporting students to become readers led her to train as a Reading Recovery teacher and work in this and other Literacy Support roles. Ro completed graduate studies in Special Education and joined DSV as an education consultant in 2019. She has enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experience with teachers, students and parents in metropolitan schools.
