About the event
It can be tricky having chats with our children about their bodies and relationships when they become teenagers.
If you would like some tips and support, join our session for parents/carers who are supporting young people with Down syndrome through the important life stage of puberty.
Participants will learn how to:
- talk about the physical and emotional changes that occur in puberty
- support your young person to navigate this important life stage
- develop strategies to teach and support the important concepts related to public and private behaviour.
This session is for parents, carers and families of children with Down syndrome who are in their early teens.
We will also be running a session on this topic for teenagers with Down syndrome on Thursday 16 April at Kensington Town Hall.
