Tiffany will share lived experience insights from School Can’t Australia, explain why reframing “school refusal” as “school can’t” matters, and discuss how understanding the autonomic nervous system helps identify and address stressors and barriers to attendance.
About the Speaker

Tiffany Westphal
Tiffany Westphal is a founding board member of School Can’t Australia and a social worker supporting neurodivergent students and families. Drawing on over a decade of lived experience as a parent and volunteer, she advocates, researches, develops resources, and presents on school can’t. Tiffany created the Student Stress Investigation tool to help identify school-based stressors and is passionate about supporting students, families, clinicians, and educators to better understand and respond to their needs.
