About the event

Join us for an online session about the science behind key word signing (KSW), the benefits, why and how it supports communication and language development, and over a dozen signs to use with your child right away.

This is for parents, carers, siblings and people supporting young children with Down syndrome.

Participants will gain knowledge about:

  • language development and what to expect
  • how KWS supports communication and language development
  • the benefits of supporting better language and speech
  • the link between language and literacy
  • some basic key word signs.

Meg Mahon

Meg is a language and communication expert. She has a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Learning Intervention from Melbourne University. Meg started Baby Sign in 2022 and now helps families and carers communicate better with children using KWS.
