About the event

This session will provide information about Down syndrome and preventive health, including information about tips to maintain health and wellbeing, COVID-19 vaccinations, available tools to improve health outcomes, and more.

This event is primarily aimed at parents and carers of family members with Down syndrome over the age of 18.

Participants will gain knowledge about:

  • information about prevalent co-occurring health concerns in the 18+ age group
  • latest information on preventative healthcare tools
  • latest information on COVID-19 vaccinations
  • information about maintaining health and wellbeing
  • tools for the audience to take away to improve health outcomes.

Presenter

Natalie Graham, Parent, Experienced Nurse

Natalie is an experienced nurse with specialties in Intensive Care and Infection Control, holds a Master’s in Public Health, major in health promotion. From 2020-2024 Natalie has worked as National Health Program Manager at Down Syndrome Australia.

Natalie has 4 daughters, her third daughter, Henrietta was born with Down syndrome 20 years ago. Natalie is a past Chair of Down Syndrome Victoria and a strong disability advocate. Natalie was awarded a prestigious 2022 Churchill Fellowship, investigating programs that empower people with intellectual disability to become advocates.
