About the event
This information session will assist parents to choose a suitable primary school for their child with Down syndrome.
Parents will gain an understanding of:
- The range of schooling options available to them
- Selecting an appropriate school for their child
- The enrolment process
- Funding to support students with disability
- Tips and strategies for a successful transition to primary school
All face to face DSV Training will be run in accordance with government COVID safe rules. If we cannot run face to face events due to COVID restrictions, they will run on Zoom at the scheduled time. More information will be provided to participants closer to each event.

Presenters

Ro O’Dwyer, Education Support Manager, DSV
Ro O’Dwyer has extensive teaching experience in primary schools in both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. A passion for Literacy and supporting students to become readers led her to train as a Reading Recovery teacher and work in this and other Literacy Support roles. Ro completed graduate studies in Special Education and joined DSV as an education consultant in 2019. She has enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experience with teachers, students and parents in metropolitan schools.
