The Down Syndrome Federation is committed to ensuring that all of the work that we do is informed by people with Down syndrome. We talk with people with Down syndrome and listen to what they think is important and what they want to change.

One of the ways we do this is through the Down Syndrome Advisory Network (DSAN). DSAN is a group of people with Down syndrome chosen to work together to provide direct advice to the Down Syndrome Australia Board.

DSAN members get involved in advocating for change in lots of different ways. They speak at conferences, get involved in government campaigns, and speak to health professionals.

The Down Syndrome Advisory Network is also called the DSAN.

Down Syndrome Australia chose some people with Down syndrome to become a group called the DSAN.

DSAN members learn skills to be leaders and advocates. This is speaking out for people with Down syndrome.

They get together to talk about things that are important to people with Down syndrome. Then they tell Down Syndrome Australia what they think.

This helps us to understand things that are a problem for Australians with Down syndrome.

The DSAN helps us to make good decisions and do work that will help people with Down syndrome.

They also help us write good information for people with Down syndrome.
