Laura is the facilitator for the Tarneit and Melton MyTime groups and play leads at Epping MyTime. She brings passion, warmth and lived experience to her groups, and enjoys the glimmers of small, joyful moments in everyday life. Laura started as a MyTime member and often says she wishes she had discovered MyTime sooner.
“When I was introduced to MyTime, I felt like I had found a place to belong and be accepted. MyTime offering a Play Leader for the children was the cherry on top!”
Laura was looking to return to work and dreamed of a role that wouldn’t take time away from her children. A job that would align with her passions and bring her joy. When she came across a MyTime opening, she jumped at the opportunity.
Laura loves that every MyTime family brings unique lived experience in their caring role, yet everyone comes together with understanding and compassion. She values how victories are shared and genuinely celebrated within the group, and how the group responds with empathy, understanding and insight.
Laura encourages all parents and carers to dedicate a small amount of time to themselves. MyTime offers you a welcoming space to enjoy a cuppa and chat, take part in creative activities, and connect with others who get it. “We are here for you. Please reach out,” she says, “you deserve it.”
There is still time to join us before the school holidays. Come along to:
- Tarneit on 8 December for an end of year breakup party
- Melton on 9 December for a visit from Carers Gateway to talk about free carer support services
- Epping on 10 December for a special morning tea with outdoor play for the children.
If you’d like to join any of these sessions, please email Laura at lauras@mytimevic.com.au for more information.
