About the event
These meetings are for adults with Down syndrome and their families/support people.
Club21
Club21 is a peer support network for people with Down syndrome to develop friendships and share social experiences with the support of a group leader and volunteers. Our Club21 program offers a variety of in person and virtual events and activities for adults and teens each month.
After launching in Geelong and Ballarat in 2023, we’re thrilled to be bringing Club21 to Bendigo and Shepparton this year!
FitSkills
FitSkills is an evidence-based, 10-week physical activity program designed for individuals with Down syndrome. Each participant is paired with a dedicated volunteer FitSkills Partner for motivation and support. Weekly facilitated one-hour workouts at the gym are followed by social meals, fostering community.
Tailored by a physiotherapist, the program includes personalised, easy-to-read exercise programs with regular check-ins. FitSkills aims to enhance fitness and well-being through a supportive and inclusive approach.

Presenters
Matt O’Neil, Chair – Advisory Network, DSV
Matt has been a dedicated DSV advocate for a number of years; representing DSV on the Down Syndrome Advisory Network (DSAN), volunteering and speaking at a variety of DSV events. Matt works for DSV chairing our advisory network. Matt is also involved in other project opportunities that present throughout the year at DSV.
About his position Matt said, “[To] work with DSV is to show what I am about, it is a part of my life of living with a disability. I want people to look up and I believe I have a voice.”
Debby Fraumano, Adult Support Manager, DSV
This session will be facilitated by our Adult Support Manager Debby Fraumano. Debby is a social worker with a long history in the disability sector. She started out in direct services, and then worked with the Association for Children with a Disability for a few years after her second child was born with a disability.
Following that with a stint in case management she then returned to the Association for Children with a Disability as the Coordinator of ACD Educate with a focus on assisting parents in preparing for the NDIS. Debby firmly believes in never being afraid to try new things and make some mistakes on the way. It’s all part of life and learning.
Helen More, Program Manager: Club21 & Volunters, DSV
Helen began at DSV as a volunteer with the Club21 program in 2013 and jumped at the chance to take on the role of Club21 Coordinator in 2018. Down Syndrome Victoria and Victorian Council of Social Service gave her the opportunity to complete a Certificate IV in Disability at RMIT graduating in 2019.
Helen is passionate about Club21 and promoting the inclusion of people with Down syndrome in the community.
