In March 2025, Freemasons Cosmopolitan Lodge No 96 hosted a wonderful event that raised significant funds for people with Down syndrome and their families across Geelong and the surrounding communities. These funds will be distributed through Down Syndrome Victoria to deliver essential supports and services where they are needed most, bringing additional connections and exciting opportunities to the area over the next two years.
Here’s what’s already underway.
Establishing the Geelong Steering Committee
A Steering Committee consisting of local Geelong residents has been established to inform and support the delivery of our activities. Ensuring funds are tailored to the needs of Geelong families. Thank you to the Geelong regional members for volunteering your time to support the committee. We are looking forward to planning some great events over the year. Our first committee is planned for 27 July.
Who’s interested in getting a job?
We are hosting a practical and supportive session focused on employment pathways for people with Down syndrome. Families and individuals will hear directly from DSV’s Employment Manager Bree, learn more about employment options, and can ask any burning questions.
Date: 17 August
Time: 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Location: Armstrong Creek East Community Hub, 46–70 Central Boulevard, Geelong
The session is free and light refreshments will be provided.
You can find out more and register at our events page.

- Club21. A vibrant social group for adults with Down syndrome to connect, explore and enjoy new experiences.
- DSV Education Support. Offering a wide range of services to teachers, schools and parents to support students with Down syndrome.
- MyTime. Two local peer support groups for parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to18 years with a disability.
